Route Optimization And Live Maps For HVAC Dispatch
1 min readFieldFlow HVAC
Dispatchers can now sequence a technician's day by shortest drive, appointment window, or urgency, and see every drive leg on a live map.
What changed
The dispatch board now optimizes each technician's route instead of leaving the order to guesswork. Choose one of three strategies and the board re-sequences the stops for you.
- Shortest drive orders stops to cut total windshield time between calls.
- Appointment time respects promised arrival windows first, then trims drive time inside those constraints.
- Urgency pushes no-heat and no-cool emergencies to the front of the day.
Live route maps
Each route renders on a map with the drive legs between stops drawn in order, so a dispatcher can see the shape of the day before committing to it. Filtering by technician isolates a single route.
Why it matters
Fewer miles between calls means more billable stops per truck and tighter arrival windows for customers. Because the board is connected to job status, an en-route update reaches the customer automatically as the technician moves.
